Pleteni Kocki is a humanitarian knitting and crocheting group in North Macedonia, bringing people together to create handmade items for those in need.
“Pleteni Kocki” is an informal humanitarian initiative that brings together a love for knitting and a desire to help people in our communities across North Macedonia who need it most.
We have been knitting for 8 years, building a network of like-minded people and creative humanitarians who enthusiastically take part in our activities.
We encourage people in our communities to contribute, even from the comfort of their own homes, by making knitted items, donating yarn and other knitting supplies, or suggesting new initiatives.
Inspired by the global project Knit a Square, which joining knitted squares together to create blankets for orphaned children in South Africa, we launched the Pleteni Kocki initiative in 2018 to bring warmth to our community.
We then expanded our work to include a variety of other knitting and crocheting projects and activities for people of different age groups.
Everyone is welcome to contribute — with their time, materials, skills or simply a desire to help.
